PTA is the Parent and Teacher Association that helps our students have an exceptional school experience in social and seasonal events above and beyond the amazing things happening in our classrooms.
What does PTA do?
PTAs engage in various activities such as fundraising for school programs, organizing events for families, advocating for improvements in education policies, volunteering at school events, and supporting teachers and staff.
Sherwood PTA plans numerous events during the school year, with the most notable ones being: Trunk or Treat, Snowman Shop, Holiday Parties, and the Spring Carnival.
Why Join PTA?
Your membership dues contribute to funding holiday parties, providing free student t-shirts, offering family events, giving 'teacher grants' for individual classroom needs, and more.
You can enhance your child's educational experience by applying your skills and interests at different events throughout the school year.
Work together with teachers and administrators to influence the school community positively.
Connect with fellow parents to foster new relationships and build connections.
What takes place during pta meetings?
Sherwood PTA meetings are the second Thursday of each month at 6:00pm in the Project Lab. Children are welcome to attend!
During PTA meetings, the board discusses the current budget, upcoming and recent expenses, upcoming events, and planning that needs to take place to prepare these events.
We hear updates from school administrators, and collaborate on initiatives to support students and teachers.
How is PTA funded?
The funds are provided through membership dues, party fund payments, donations, and fundraising.
